WINNIPEG – The Tim Hortons store in Brandon, Manitoba. along the Trans-Canada Highway closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. “We can confirm that the Tim Hortons restaurant located at 1845 Middleton Ave Brandon, MB is currently closed. We have been informed that a member of the team who works at this restaurant has tested positive for COVID-19. We wish the employee a full recovery, ”the organization said in an emailed statement to CTV News.

The press release says the health and safety of customers and employees is a top priority. This was not confirmed when the employee was diagnosed with the virus.

“In accordance with public health guidelines, team members who have worked closely with this individual are self-isolating for 14 days and will be supported by the corporate and restaurant COVID-19 compensation fund. Tim Hortons to compensate for any lost wages. ”

The statement went on to say that the restaurant will remain closed until it can be properly cleaned and sanitized and another team can be brought in.

Health officials said Thursday that Brandon is currently treating a cluster of 28 cases of COVID-19, although they did not specify the location of the cluster.
