The new vehicle is aptly nicknamed the “Crabsuit” because it looks like a large mechanical crab with six robotic legs to presumably stabilize the ship when on land. The legs appear to retract into the ship’s hull when the vehicle is submerged underwater, with a full-size propeller unit helping it travel the depths of Pandora’s azure seas.Landau previously revealed that a lot of time will be spent “on the water, around the water, in the water” in Avatar’s sequels, as Jake and Neytiri are forced to leave their home and explore different Pandora regions. He also shared a photo of two high-tech submarine ships: a high-speed, forward-control Matador vessel and a smaller Picador jet boat.
Despite these recent updates, we still have a bit of time to wait for the Avatar sequels to make a splash on the big screen. Disney recently announced that the Avatar films have been pushed back a year after its film release schedule was postponed in light of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), meaning Avatar 2 will now be released on December 16, 2022. .
Therefore, Avatar 3 will be released on December 20, 2024, Avatar 4 on December 18, 2026, and Avatar 5 on December 22, 2028.
Every movie delayed due to coronavirus (so far)
