Brentford identifies Benrahma’s replacement Brentford will line up his replacement at Said Benrahma ahead of the mercurial winger’s long-awaited transfer to the Premier League.

Aston Villa has been linked with a move, but Brentford’s reluctance to take advantage of Benrahma and Ollie Watkins until replacements have been arranged has slowed down negotiations.

West London Sport reported last month that Robin Hack from Nuremberg has been identified as the striker’s replacement. Now the Daily Mail has doubled down on those initial reports.

The latest report says the Bees are preparing a £ 5million offer for Hack, who scored ten goals last season for Nuremberg.

Hack, 22, would fill the same role as Ivan Toney – in that he would arrive in place of an imminent departure. Hack would step in for Benrahma, while forward Tony would serve an obvious purpose – replacing Watkins.

Any departure for the pair – both valued at around £ 25million – would require these two deals to move forward so that Brentford is not left out before the new league season.

Villa remain interested in the pair and hope to secure a deal for Watkins within the next week.

Martinez ready to end speculation

Emiliano Martinez is ready to end speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Arsenal.

This is according to The Telegraph, which reports that Martinez is set to sign the terms of a new deal, despite interest from Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa.

Dean Smith could be on the hunt for a goalie this summer, with Tom Heaton’s injury keeping him on the sidelines at least until October.

Villa has reportedly made a £ 10million offer for Martinez, with the Gunners valuing him at over £ 20million.

Martinez has been the first choice for Mikel Arteta since number Bernd Leno injured his knee in June following the restart of the Premier League season, and has impressed during that time.

Leeds could intervene on Martinez

Newly promoted Leeds United are the latest team to be credited with an interest in Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Martinez, who could leave north London for good this summer in order to pursue regular football – which is far from guaranteed where he is now.

Now Leeds, led by Martinez’s compatriot Marcelo Bielsa, has become another contender, according to the Daily Mail; championship champions are open for the sale of premium Kiko Casilla ahead of the new campaign.

Villa have reportedly made a £ 10million offer for Martinez, but the Gunners want nearly double that.

Martinez has been the first choice for Mikel Arteta since number Bernd Leno injured his knee in June following the restart of the Premier League season, and has impressed during that time.

Celtic asks Edouard

Celtic will ask for at least £ 40million before considering selling Odsonne Edouard, according to reports.

Aston Villa are expected to be on the hunt for a striker this summer, with Wesley Moraes still recovering from a serious knee injury.

Edward, who has enjoyed two prolific seasons with the Glasgow giants, has been closely linked with the move to B6 in the current window.

However, Sportsmail reports that Parkhead bosses are looking for a huge fee to cover the 20% selling fee they still owe PSG.

The report suggests that Villa have made contact with Celtic about a possible move but face competition from Premier League rivals in the form of Everton and Leicester.

Edward’s agent sparked further speculation this week, after admitting his client would be in immediate talks about his future.
