After the comedian was accused of sexual misconduct, he is in the process of recovering.

Chris d’Elia, comedian and actor, has already filmed his role in Army of the dead, a zombie movie currently in pre-production by director Zack Snyder. But production will resume briefly to replace him, resuming his roles with the actor and Star Trek actress Tig Notaro, reports Weekly entertainment. In June, witnesses have come forward with accusations of sexual misconduct against Elia, including the sexual harassment of underage girls. Since then, a prank show featuring the comic has been canceled by Netflix, and now Snyder is replacing him (and rightly so).

Army of the dead is Snyder’s first major film since Justice League, a great zombie movie starring Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell and a bunch of others; set after a big zombo outbreak, it’s a heist movie, which is, at the very least, one of the only things you can say to make me rejoice in a zombie movie in 2020. With With the pandemic still ongoing, Notaro’s role will be incorporated into the film via green screen and CGI techniques. Notaro is a delight both on Star Trek: Discovery and everywhere else, which makes it a particularly good choice for… well, any part to be replaced.

Army of the dead was filmed before the pandemic, and with footage from Notaro, it will be possible to wrap up post-production at some point here. It will premiere on Netflix, although the date has not been determined.
