Despite the Capitals’ protests, the NHL Player Safety Department will not discipline Anders Lee. Athletic’s Arthur Staple reported the news on Twitter.
We would have heard from the league before, but confirming that there is no additional discipline ahead for Anders Lee for his first game against Nick Backstrom.

Lee received a two-minute interference penalty during the game and was challenged to fight by John Carlson and Tom Wilson.
Islanders head coach Barry Trotz called the move a “hockey game”.
“I don’t know if Nick was ready or not,” Trotz said. “Anders is a strong guy, the blow was done and they responded, he and Wilson fought and that was probably the end. We will see. ”
