Amanda Holden, 49, shared a sweet snap of herself with ‘dear friend’ Simon Cowell today after the music mogul underwent surgery following a fall from his electric bike. Simon broke his back in several places while testing his new bike on Saturday outside his Malibu mansion.

Amanda, who works closely with Simon on Britain’s Got Talent, updated fans on her progress after six hours of surgery at Providence Saint John Hospital in Santa Monica.Sharing a return photo of the couple, she wrote: “I have been thinking about my dear friend all day and luckily I am able to say (blessedly) that he has had his operation and is going very. good.

“Chris Lexi Hollie and I wish you a speedy recovery and send you, Lauren and Eric all our love,” alongside a heart emoji.

The two are close friends after Simon hired Amanda as a judge for Britain’s Got Talent in 2007.

“He fell flat on his back, and medics say the impact missed his spinal cord by about an inch and it could have been much, much worse.

“He was operated on for six hours, and they had to put a metal rod on his back and fix a few things.

“He’s recovering in the hospital now, and we expect him to be there for a few days, then he’ll take things from there.”

“It’s too early to say when he’ll be back on TV. “

The accident would have been serious enough to have left Simon paralyzed for life, as he nearly broke his spinal cord “by an inch”.

Simon started cycling to help maintain his weight loss after losing weight following a lifestyle overhaul.

The 60-year-old turned to exercise and healthy eating following a terrifying incident in 2017 where he fell down the stairs.

He was on his way to his kitchen in the early hours of the morning when he slipped and injured himself, which prompted him to change his habits.
