Adam Woodyatt Divorce: Why Did Adam Separate From His Wife For 22 Years? | Celebrity News | Showbiz and TV

Adam Woodyatt is well known for playing Ian Beale on the longtime BBC soap opera EastEnders. He played his iconic role for more than three decades after his first appearance in 1985. Earlier this week, it was announced that Adam had split from his wife Beverley Sharp after 22 years together, but what was the reason for their separation?

Following reports of his split, a spokesperson for Adam said: “Beverley and Adam separated in August of last year, and we ask that the privacy of the family be respected. “A source later told The Sun that the split was a “simple” one.

The insider told the post: “Beverley was understandably very upset, as anyone would under the circumstances, but these things happen and it’s a simple parting.

“No one is planning these things and divorce is a hard thing to figure out, but they’ve been dealing with it quietly for several months and now talking to friends about it, so it’s less of a secret.

“They still get along well and want to keep them that way for the sake of their children – even though they are now adults. ”

Adam and his wife Beverley were married in a private ceremony at Disney World in Florida in 1998.

The couple have two children together, daughter Jessica, 27, and son Samuel, 23.

Adam’s on-screen role as Ian Beale appears to have been unlucky in love as he’s been married four times on the soap opera.

An insider also spoke of Adam taking time to switch from long-running soap opera to Digital Spy.

They told the publication, “Ian is going to be off-screen for a big script.

“The bosses remain discreet, but we do not know how long it will last. “
