Antonio Banderas says he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is celebrating his 60th birthday in quarantine.

The Spanish actor announced his positive test in a Monday post on Instagram. Banderas said he would spend his time in isolation reading, writing and “making plans to start making sense of my 60th year which I am coming to full of enthusiasm.”

“I would like to add that I am doing relatively well, just a little more tired than usual and hope to recover as quickly as possible by following medical instructions which I hope will allow me to overcome the infection that I and so many. people around the world are suffering from, ”Banderas wrote.

A spokesperson for Banderas did not immediately respond to the messages on Monday.

Earlier this year, Banderas was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in “Pain & Glory” by Pedro Almodovar.
