Aberdeen signed Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson on loan until January.
The 19-year-old will help make up for the loss of Sam Cosgrove, who faces up to a 10-week absence with a knee problem.
Meanwhile, defender Tommie Hoban has signed a short-term deal until January after recovering from an injury that ended his loan from Watford in 2019.
Edmundson has made two replacement appearances for Leeds in the Championship in the past three seasons.
He will join Derek McInnes’ side directly for the Scottish Premiership opener on Saturday against Rangers in Pittodrie.
“His eagerness and willingness to come to Aberdeen is really encouraging,” McInnes said.
“He’s a player we’ve known for a while and who always felt he had the right attributes to add to our team. ”
Hoban, 26, who was released by Watford last summer and was in rehab with the Dons, was signed as cover after center-half Michael Devlin was ruled out for two months.
