“The woman was walking under the Expo line toward Fraser Highway when an unknown suspect approached her with a gun,” said a statement. “The male stole her personal belongings from the woman, then pulled her into the bushes and sexually assaulted her.”
PLUS: Cpl. Elenore Sturko says the victim was also stripped of his personal belongings. The suspect described as a white man, 30-40 years old, 5/10 “tall, and wore a red and blue bandana over his face and all black clothing. All witnesses should contact the Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was able to call for help after the man fled the area.
“This, of course, is a very upsetting incident. We are very concerned. We retained the Surrey RCMP victim services. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment, “said Elenore Sturko of the RCMP.
“Now we turn our attention beyond victim care, to make sure that we can try to locate our suspect and continue our investigation.”
The RCMP says the suspect is a white man, 30 to 40 years old and approximately 5’10 “.
The man was dressed in black and wore a red and blue bandana over his face.
