The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme – also known as the leave program – was announced in March this year and has helped employers pay the wages of nine million workers across the UK, according to the government.

Meanwhile, 2.7 million people have successfully applied for financial support through the Self-Employed Income Support Program.

During this ongoing crisis, the number of requests for universal credit jumped.

From the beginning of March until June 2, 3.1 million people in 2.5 million households applied for a six-in-one benefit.
