Two people seriously injured in shootout in south Etobicoke


Two people were seriously injured in a shootout in south Etobicoke.Police said they were originally called to the Islington Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard West area just before 11 p.m. Saturday, where they discovered two victims of gunshot wounds.

Police said the shooting allegedly took place less than a kilometer away on Garnett Janes Road before the two went to the area where they were met by police and paramedics.

A man was shot in the face while a second man was injured in the back of the head. It is not known whether he was hit by a bullet or hit by shards of glass as a result of the shooting.

Paramedics say that a man was taken to a trauma center in a life-threatening condition while a second man received serious but not fatal injuries.

Police say they are looking for up to three suspects described as a white man in a black hoodie, a second man in a dark gray hoodie, and a third man in a black hoodie. All three were seen fleeing the original scene of the shooting in a black four-door sedan.
