During a White House coronavirus briefing Thursday, President Trump said he was invited by Yankee President Randy Levine to throw the first pitch in an upcoming game in New York.

“Randy Levine is a great friend of mine from the Yankees,” Trump said. “He asked me to throw the first pitch. And I think I’m doing it on August 15th at Yankee Stadium.
The Yankees have also confirmed that Trump will pitch the first pitch of a game. If that happens on August 15, as he has announced, it will be before a game against the Boston Red Sox. Since being elected president in 2016, Trump has not thrown the first pitch in a baseball game.
