Tragedy as Great Barr’s toddler dies after being found ‘unresponsive’ inside home


A two-year-old boy has tragically died after being found “unresponsive” inside a townhouse.Emergency services were called to the Great Barr property just after 5:30 p.m. on Friday July 24.

The incident prompted an influx of police and paramedics to the scene at the junction of Curbar Road and Haddon Road.

Footage showed two ambulances and police parked outside the address.

A doctor in hazardous materials protective gear was also reported to arrive at the house.

Today, police confirmed the youngster was taken to hospital but sadly passed away shortly after arriving.

The coroner will be informed but the death of the two year old child is not considered suspicious.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘We were alerted after a two year old boy became unresponsive at an address in Curbar Road, Great Barr, just after 5.30pm yesterday (July 24).

“He was taken to hospital but sadly passed away shortly after his arrival.

“The death is not considered suspicious and the coroner is informed. “
