Toronto Blue Jays IF Travis Shaw Says Staying In A Bubble All Summer Is Not An Option

Toronto Blue Jays player Travis Shaw is not satisfied with the team’s possible bubble arrangement in Toronto.Reacting to a tweet from TSN Blue reporter Jays Scott Mitchell about the penalties players could face for leaving the bubble this summer, Shaw said the team had been informed that the bubble would only be in place for two weeks and not for the whole season.

“We were told two weeks … not all summer … all summer is a little too much,” Shaw tweeted.

As Mitchell noted earlier, players leaving the Rogers Center stadium / hotel bubble could face fines of up to $ 750,000 or even a prison term if caught under the Quarantine Act. .

Shaw tweeted that he couldn’t imagine the players who stayed in the bubble for the duration of the summer.

“All summer is not going to happen,” wrote Shaw. “Not an option. ”

The Blue Jays players started living at the Rogers Center Marriott last Monday as the team opened camp for their July 24 opening game with the Tampa Bay Rays.
