WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States has yet to finalize a decision on how it will respond to the French digital tax, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in an interview with CNBC on Thursday.
“Ambassador Lighthizer and I have discussed this and we will discuss it with the President. No decision has yet been made, “said Mnuchin.
Washington was in talks with the European Union over taxes on digital giants like Alphabet’s Google, Amazon, and Facebook, but Mnuchin called for a halt to negotiations in June.
