The number of active COVID-19 cases in Ontario is now less than 2,000.The province reports 149 and 153 new virus cases in the past two days.

Ontario did not report a case on Wednesday due to Canada Day and reported two days on Thursday.

The 149 cases confirmed on June 30 and the 153 cases confirmed on July 1 both represent a decrease in the five-day moving average of 179 new cases.

These are also the lowest figures for a 24-hour period since June 26.
