The new Star Wars: The Clone Wars shows The Bad Batch at Disney Plus

Even before The Clone Wars Season 7 arrived at Disney Plus earlier this year, there were rumors that another animated Star Wars series was already in the works. Would he follow the events of Star Wars Rebels? Or perhaps state some of the big unknowns for Ahsoka Tano?

Now we have the answer: Clone Wars designer Dave Filoni’s next series is Star Wars: The Bad Batch, a direct fallout from the last season of his resuscitated CG cartoon.

According to a press release, the series “follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch as they find their way into a rapidly changing galaxy in the aftermath of the Clone Wars. The members of Bad Batch – a unique squad of clones that differ genetically from their brothers in the clone army – each have unique exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-war era of clones, they will undertake daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find a new goal. “

The Bad Batch was the main new character introduced in the Clone Wars episodes that were presented last February. At the end of the arc, Rex (the main clone of the series) gave Echo (previously thought dead, but saved from separatist forces) permission to join the Bad Batch for their endless resistance mission. What happened to the group after Order 66 is a mystery.

“Give new and existing fans the latest chapter in Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been our honor at Disney Plus, and we are delighted with the global response to this historic series, “said Agnes Chu, senior vice president of content at Disney Plus, in a statement. ” While The Clone Wars Perhaps it has come to its conclusion, our partnership with the storytellers and revolutionary artists of Lucasfilm Animation has only just begun. We are excited to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next Bad Batch adventures. “

Star Wars: The Bad Batch should be broadcast on the streaming service in 2021. In the meantime, Filoni The Mandalorian season 2 which also found a way to pick up the reigns of The Clone Wars, is back in October.
