The Caledonian Union has said the territory is back on the path to state colonialism, with party chairman Daniel Goa calling again for the removal of the French high commissioner.
Party leaders, who met outside Noumea, said new French Prime Minister Jean Castix showed little consideration for New Caledonia as there was no contact or discussion.
Goa accused anti-independence politicians of siding with Paris and ending collegiality.
It also hit nickel companies SLN and Vale who were looking to export ore to bolster their bottom line.
Goa said these multinationals were counting on the possibility of evading taxes and exporting ore which only depreciated New Caledonia’s resources.
