Dude when we got on TV the day after we released this podcast, we were the biggest heels in the locker room. Everyone, even our boyfriend MJF, everyone was so pissed off with us because they thought we got thugs and went on the Cornette podcast to bury The Young Bucks and AEW. We weren’t a popular pair in the locker room that day.
Dax went on to say that the fact that the two former WWE stars were not initially welcome to AEW was a real shoot. The young guys from AEW trying to make a name for themselves saw people who had already been on television come to “take their place”, which Dax and Cash were prepared for. He also thinks that their old school sensibility might clash with some of the wrestlers from the wilder independent scene.
I think it’s because of our attitude towards the company, our attitude towards professional wrestling and team wrestling, and rules and things like that. So the atmosphere behind the scenes at the start was rather tense and we don’t mind. We thrive on it, we profit from it. We appreciate the competitiveness of professional wrestling. If we are all friends and we all try to help each other, at the end of the day, no one goes ahead.
