Tesco has changed its social distancing measures

Tesco has made some changes to its social distancing measures in stores, as lock-out restrictions in the UK have been relaxed. The one-way supermarket aisle system has been eliminated, and the number of authorized customers in stores has been increased.

However, the chain continues to limit the number of people in its stores at any given time, and customers are always asked to stay within two meters of each other.

Ground markers are still in place, but new signage has been issued to remind customers to keep a safe distance.

Hand sanitizers and cleaning stations also remain in stores, and staff can wear gloves, face masks and visors if desired.

A Tesco spokesperson said, “The safety of our customers and colleagues is our top priority and we follow government directives closely.

“We have reviewed the social distancing measures in our stores to make sure that they comply with the latest guidelines and that everyone can continue to maintain a safe distance.”

The press release adds: “We ask our customers to continue to support us by following the measures in place. ”

The adjustments were implemented in response to customer feedback.

The markers remain on the ground

Tesco implemented social distancing measures for the first time in March, when the UK lock was put in place.

Although it has recently become mandatory to wear a face mask in a supermarket in Scotland, this requirement has not been implemented by Downing Street.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said that an official review was underway to determine whether masks should be made compulsory in public places in England.

In a briefing with reporters on Monday, he said there was additional evidence of “the benefits of face covers in certain indoor environments.”

The number 10 official added: “An official review is underway and we will discuss it with scientific advisers this week and define a final position in the coming days. ”

When asked if there was new evidence behind the thought of Boris Johnson, the spokesperson said, “I always said that we would keep this under review and the experts who advise the government. “
