Tamera Mowry-Housley is the second co-host to leave the series in recent months
Mowry-Housley’s exit comes just weeks after Amanda Seales’ departure. Seales had been on the show for six months before announcing in June that she had decided not to renew her contract, citing censorship issues. (There have been rumors that she had a drama with her co-hosts, but Seales has firmly denied the speculation.)
Seales filled the seat of Tamar Braxton after the sacking of singer “Love & War” in 2016. There is no official word on why Braxton was released. However, the Daily Mail reported at the time that she was dismissed because of negative comments from viewers.
What will happen to “The Real” now?
Selon The Hollywood Reporter, The truth has been renewed until 2022 so that the show continues. However, it is not clear if this will continue with only co-hosts Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love and Jeannie Mai or if it will bring in replacements.
When Braxton left, Bailon said OK! Magazine that she and her co-hosts wanted the seat to remain open while sometimes having guest hosts. But she also noted to Essence that they had no control over hiring decisions. We will share more updates as they become available.
