All eyes were on Melania Trump when she joined her husband in the July 4 celebration at Mount Rushmore – but perhaps not for the reasons she hoped.
As President Trump took the stage in South Dakota to deliver a rallying address to the 7,500 Independence Day attendees, Twitter users looked at the eye-catching Alexander McQueen dress from the First Lady.
Several people said on Twitter that Alexander McQueen’s $ 2,485 appeared to be that Trump scribbled on the fabric with a marker.

Some people used the dress to remember “Sharpiegate”, an incident where President Trump appeared to modify a hurricane map with a Sharpie
Despite the jokes, the designer dress was born after all McQueen staff embroidered and sketched by hand on a linen fabric
Some users have compared the swirling doodle designs to the infamous “Sharpiegate”, when Trump appeared to be using a large Sharpie to modify an official map of Hurricane Dorian in September.
“Apparently Trump tried to trace a hurricane path over Melania’s dress,” wrote one woman,
“It looks like Melania also needs #IndependenceFromTrump,” wrote one.
“He left and scribbled with the sharpie all over his dress now. I thought they took his Sharpie after the hurricane incident?
