Three best friends who went fishing in Florida were found beaten and gunned down in what the local sheriff called one of the most “gruesome” crime scenes he had ever seen.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd identified the friends as 23-year-old Damion Tillman; Keven Springfield, 30; and Brandon Rollins, 27. They were from Frostproof, a small town southeast of Tampa.

No suspects or motives were identified in the triple homicide on Friday evening, but Judd said investigators believed more than one attacker was involved.
Judd said the group planned to go cat fishing at Streety Lake, a fishing lake which Judd says is “about as far out in the middle of the woods as possible.”
Tillman, who first arrived at the lake, was being killed when Springfield and Rollins showed up in a second truck.
“They were shot and ultimately murdered,” Judd said.
Before he died, Judd said that Rollins called his father, who was home in bed and rushed to the lake. The father spoke to Rollins before he died, although Judd refused to say what Rollins had told him.
Judd said it was not clear if the friends knew their attackers, but added: “You don’t just run into someone here. It is a dirt road. A dirt road, out of the middle of what we call the land of God.
