In a statement, Spurs said, “The club is deeply saddened to confirm media reports that Serge Aurier’s brother died in the early hours of the morning.
“We support Serge during this difficult period and we ask that the privacy of the player and his family be respected.
“Everyone at the club sends their sincere condolences to Serge and his family. Our thoughts are with them all. ”
Christopher Aurier’s killer is still on the run after the incident took place outside a nightclub in the early hours of the day.
French media reported that two shots were fired and residents called the police after a man was found on the ground with stomach injuries.
Christopher was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A few hours earlier Sunday, Serge Aurier had disputed his team’s 2-1 victory in the Premier League against his North London rival, Arsenal.
The 27-year-old Ivorian defender joined the Spurs of the French club Paris St-Germain in 2017.
