Juventus played a six-goal thriller with Sassuolo that allowed them to gain a seven-point lead at the top of Serie A.

Juve led 2-0 thanks to Danilo’s shot from the edge of the box and Gonzalo Higuain’s powerful effort from Miralem Pjanic’s long ball.

But Sassuolo took the lead 3-2 thanks to the first attempt by Filip Djuricic, a superb free kick by Domenico Berardi and the close range arrival of Francesco Caputo.

They have failed to win in their last three games, conceding nine goals – as much as they left in their other 13 league games in 2020.

Wojciech Szczesny made seven saves against Sassuolo, eighth – the most goalkeepers in Juve had to do in a Serie A match since March 2014.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not score in a Serie A match for the first time since March, having scored seven goals in six league games since the restart.

Sarri team looking for ninth consecutive Serie A title and second place Atalanta by seven points with five games left.

Lazio went third with a 0-0 draw to Udinese, while Inter Milan could move within six points of Juve if they beat SLEEP Thursday.
