Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, Sally, 39, who plays mechanic Abi Franklin, explained how they got together.
When Lorraine asked if they had clicked on the set, Sally explained that it was a much slower process.
Sally said, “We were friends for a while, but then we started sharing puddings and I thought maybe something was going to boil. ”
Sally admitted she was glad they hadn’t shared too many scenes together.
She explained, “It’s much better just because Johnny is a bit of a prankster and he’s very funny and he can discourage you a little. ”
Speaking of her character, she continued: “I lived a little with the horse in the back room, we shared a room, me and the horse. It was good. ”
Joe, 50, then explained that many people live in Metcalfe’s home – where his character Tim and his wife on screen Sally live.
The pair also discussed the new addition to the cast that was announced yesterday.
Paula Wilcox is back in Corrie after 51 years of absence from the ITV soap to play former Geoff Metcalfe partner Elaine.
“I met her in the canteen, she looks like a nice lady,” said Joe.
Tim’s father Geoff is currently involved in a story of abuse involving the wife Yasmeen (Shelley King) who is currently on trial for his attempted murder.
She cracked after he subjected her to months of mental torture behind closed doors.
We hope that the appearance of Elaine will help Yasmeen’s case.
Lorraine is broadcast on weekdays from 9 a.m. on ITV.
