Some Saints fans desperately want the club to strike a permanent deal for the 23-year-old when the transfer market opens.
It has been suggested that the Spurs academy graduate could be used in a swap deal to bring Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Tottenham (Sky Sports).
While Hojbjerg was not even part of Southampton’s match squad against the Blades, Walker-Peters started again at right-back and made another tidy presentation.
After the victory, the young defender took to social media to reveal his pride in the impressive end of the season for his team.
Walker-Peters has also admitted he is looking forward to the next campaign, although only time will tell if it will be at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or St Mary’s.
What a great way to end the season! 7 undefeated games, great team effort throughout! Too bad the season is ending now but it’s time to recharge and get ready for next season! #SaintsFC pic.twitter.com/JnUk8XMZgY

Reading between the lines of what Jose recently said about Walker-Peters, it looks like he decided to sell the right-back this summer. The club will likely use it as a bargaining chip to try and drive down Hojbjerg’s price. Looking at how well Walker-Peters has performed since the reboot, I expect Hasenhuttl to be desperate to sign him, although he may not publicly admit it.
