Queen breaks silence on Princess Beatrice’s secret wedding with sweet remark

The Queen has spoken of her joy at being able to attend the wedding of her granddaughter, Princess Beatrice, as she knighted NHS fundraising hero Sir Tom Moore. The monarch and Prince Philip were among a small group of guests who attended the celebrations in Windsor on Friday.

The day was very special for the Queen as Beatrice chose to wear one of her old dresses – a glamorous 60s cream dress – and the same tiara she wore on her wedding day.

Just hours after the ceremony, held at the private All Saints Chapel away from the public, the Queen returned to Windsor Castle to make her first engagement after the lockdown.
