Ontario Confirms 116 New COVID-19 Cases, 3 Additional Deaths


Ontario confirmed 116 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, down from 129 cases reported on Sunday.Three other people died, bringing the death toll to 2,722.

The provincial total of confirmed cases now stands at 36,839, of which 88.7% is considered resolved.

In a tweet, Health Minister Christine Elliott noted that 29 of the province’s 34 public health units are reporting five cases or less, and 21 are not reporting any new cases.

Ontario has performed more than 20,896 tests for the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

The number of people hospitalized for the virus, people in intensive care and on respirators have all decreased slightly.

Meanwhile, Premier Doug Ford is expected to announce plans to reopen Ontario’s third leg today.
