North Korea has promised to take revenge on the United Kingdom after Downing Street announced sanctions against two organizations linked to state prison camps.

The regime violently denounced Britain on Saturday for essentially freezing the assets of its Ministry 7 of the State Security Bureau and the People’s Security Ministry of the Correctional Office.

Number 10 said the two organizations were involved in forced labor, torture and murder in North Korean prison camps.

But North Korean officials warned that the UK would “pay the price” for its actions and accused it of being a “puppet” of the United States.

North Korea asserted that the sanctions, which were among the first to be imposed under Britain’s new global human rights regime, are “based on fabrications supplied by a scum of” defector “” .

The decision against the two organizations was part of a series of announced sanctions, including against 25 Russians and 20 Saudis, announced by Foreign Minister Dominic Raab last week.

The sanctions, which are part of the system approved by Parliament in 2018, should target the “blood-soaked” assets of corrupt organizations and officials in several countries that exploit human rights.

In a statement to the North Korean state media KCNA, a spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs said that the UK decision was a “despicable political scheme” which “follows in the footsteps of hostile US policy. United ”to the regime.

He said: “Britain’s latest decision is a blatant political plot to jump on the bandwagon of hostile US policy.

“We strongly condemn and reject the boldness of the United Kingdom to impose sanctions on the institutions responsible for the security of our country as violent interference in internal affairs. ”

The spokesman added: “If the UK withdraws from the EU, asserting its” identity “, it should not blindly follow the tail of the United States but behave in its place according to its own point of view. .

“The UK will certainly be forced to pay the price. ”

The spokesman seems to compare the British system to the American Magnitsky law, which gives authorities the power to take action against perpetrators of human rights violations.

The quarrel comes after North Korea and the United States have failed to find a compromise on the regime’s nuclear weapons program or the international sanctions imposed on Pyongyang.

Recent North Korean statements, including that of Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, have reiterated Pyongyang’s objections to what he sees as hostile and selfish US policies.
