‘No problem with that’ – Aston Villa sent a transfer message as a loan request

Aston Villa fans have reacted to a claim by the Italian press that their team want to bring Pepe Reina back on loan for another season. Reina spent the second half of the 2019-20 campaign with Villa after making the temporary switch to B6 in January.

The former Liverpool goalkeeper helped Villa keep the Premier League safe, conceding just two goals in the last four games as Dean Smith’s side led the campaign undefeated.

With Lovre Kalinic not in Smith’s plans and Tom Heaton still injured, a goalkeeper could be signed this summer.

Orjan Nyland regained his place in Reina’s goal but was later abandoned and the Spaniard reinstated.

Jed Steer, meanwhile, is recovering from an injury to Achilles.

So should Villa bring Reina back? We asked the faithful burgundy and blue and they answered.

“Locker room experience,” said one fan. “OK with me. “

“We brought great experience to the rear after locking when we needed it! Another said. “We will still need him next year to compete with Heaton! ”

A third fan said: “I have no problem with this solid save with a huge amount of experience. ”

“Take him for a season, play him until Heaton is back, then use him as a replacement,” added a fourth fan. “Keep the budget for this window on outside players. Another said, “I hope. Him and Heaton. Two good number one options. ”

“Great for Heaton and Nyland, loads of experience and I would even say give him a coaching role when he hangs up the gloves,” said a sixth fan.
