The film follows Ellie (Long) as she tries to repair her marriage to her husband Marcus (Stephen Bishop) after a brief meeting with an old friend, David (Epps), only to find that David is more dangerous and unstable than she had imagined.
Fatal matter doesn’t get the best reviews from critics as it currently has a 17% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but there are already a lot of fans on social media who love the movie and compare it to the Lifetime and Hallmark thrillers they like.
We have to discuss this crazy ending and we have gathered a lot of reactions to what happened. People don’t seem too satisfied based on the tweets we’ve seen so far.

SPOILERS AHEAD ———
At the start of the film, we see a woman spending an intimate evening with a man, but then she discovers him dead in the bathtub and we see her kidnapped by an intruder.
Later in the film, we discover that the woman is David’s ex-wife and the man is her new boyfriend.
After terrorizing Ellie and all those close to her, David simulates his own death and admits the murder of his ex-wife and his new man. He is obviously not dead, however, and two months later, he shows up at Ellie’s house the night before Thanksgiving in the hope of finally having the chance to be with her.
A confrontation occurs between David, Ellie and Marcus and it ends with David sliding down the side of a cliff. As he falls, Ellie tries to save him, but he falls on the beach and is apparently dead… or right ?!
