Mile Jedinak spent five seasons at Crystal Palace and was club captain between 2013 and 2016

Former Crystal Palace and Aston Villa midfielder Mile Jedinak confirmed his retirement from football at the age of 35.

Australian international who was released from Villa game staff at the end of last season revealed the news in an article on his official Instagram Account.

Jedinak made his biggest impact at the Palace, where he made 165 appearances between 2011 and 2016, helping the Eagles get promoted to the Premier League.

Jedinak wrote: “I was a young boy from Western Australia with a dream of playing professional football.

“My journey to reach this goal has been rich in experiences, challenges and memories that will always be cherished.

“I want to thank all the clubs I represented for allowing me to do so. Now is the time for a new chapter. ”

In a message about the club official Twitter “Palace wrote:” Congratulations to Mile Jedinak on his retirement from football. A male leader and a club legend. ”

Jedinak also played 79 games with Australia, with three world cups before announcing his retirement from international football in October 2018.
