Speaking to FightHype, the 54-year-old revealed how much weight he had cut.
“I just went out to my partner’s house. She lives here, [Dana Point, California] Tyson explained. “We just trained, boxed, and it feels good for the man. I come from 289 lbs to 220 lbs. And I feel good. ”
It’s a huge turnaround for “Baddest Man on the Planet” after climbing nearly 400 pounds during the lows of his post-boxing career.
He revealed to ABC in 2013: “I can get up in the morning and do an hour of cardio. I do StairMaster or treadmill or TreadClimber for an hour, then I go to the gym around 7:30 am and I cycle for an hour and do my ab exercises, my chest and my light weights. Then I start again the next morning.
“Because I am a big child. If I do not continue to monitor my diet and exercise and take care of myself, I balloon with a lot of weight. I have always been a big child. I was 380 pounds now, I’m 240 pounds. ”
He seems ready to return to action and recently said he would be “unstoppable” when he returned to the ring.
“That’s all I did, get in shape,” he said in a live broadcast #PlayApartTogether on Facebook.
“I feel unstoppable now. I feel the same [as when I was in my prime] again. The gods of war have ignited my ego and want me to start the war again.
“Imagine if I went there and fought, I could help all of these people we talked about. “
