MEXICO CITY (AP) – Dogs’ devotion to humans has been noticed for centuries. In Mexico, a man’s love for his dog cost him his life. Pablo Fustec, a dual citizen of France and Mexico, died this month after jumping into a boiling hot spring in an unsuccessful attempt to save Sasha, one of his dogs. He had adopted the Great Dane after finding him on a street in Mexico City following an earthquake that killed several hundred people in the country in September 2017. The family are planning a memorial – outdoors in accordance with pandemic precautions – for Fustec on Sunday in Argenteuil, the outskirts of Paris.
