Merseyside police send a strong message to Liverpool fans before Aston Villa’s visit to Anfield

Merseyside police have asked Liverpool supporters to stay home when their team faces Aston Villa this afternoon.Liverpool won their first Premier League title under Jurgen Klopp and will play Anfield for the first time as champion today.

Crowds of supporters gathered at Anfield and Pier Head the next day after the league title was won last month.

The police are impatient to avoid any repetition of these chaotic scenes in the middle of the warnings, the coronavirus remains a real threat to the health of people.

“Please DO NOT come to the ground,” said Merseyside police on social media. “We ALL live and work in an unprecedented time. Players want your support but ONLY from home.

“Covid is NOT gone. NO ONE wants another lock.

“Do the right thing and watch the game with your Sunday roast. ”
