These overwhelming charges are part of the Duchess of Sussex’s lawsuit against the publisher of Mail on Sunday, Daily Mail and MailOnline, the media which she claims were the worst offenders.
“The claimant had become the subject of a large number of false and harmful articles by the British tabloid media, in particular by the defendant, which caused considerable emotional distress and damage to her mental health”, according to the newspapers , according to the BBC.
Her suffering explains why her friends came forward to defend her in other articles, the newspapers said.
“As her friends had never seen her in this state before, they were justifiably concerned about her well-being, especially since she was pregnant, unprotected by the institution and forbidden to defend herself.”
The former Suits star, 38, is suing Associated Newspapers for violating privacy and violating copyright law for printing a letter from his ex-father in 2018.
The publisher denies its claims.
