In late 2019, the Duchess of Sussex recorded the voiceover of the Disney Nature Elephant film in a London studio after being approached by filmmakers Mark Linfield and Vanessa Berlowitz.

Meghan signed the voiceover agreement in exchange for a donation to a wildlife charity of which she and Prince Harry are very fond, Elephants Without Borders (EWB).

The Sussexes met the filmmakers of this documentary for the first time in 2017, when they went in secret to Botswana to help ISF, Dr. Mike Chase, equip 25 elephants with satellite navigation collars.

The photos taken during the trip were then published on the Sussex Royal Instagram account to mark World Elephant Day 2019.

During this significant journey, Meghan and Harry met Mr. Linfield and Mrs. Berlowitz, who caught the Duchess’ attention when they showed some scenes from their current documentary.

Meghan was particularly interested in the matriarchal structure of elephant families, according to Berlowitz.

She told People magazine: “She was absolutely intrigued by the elephants and pierced, especially by the empowerment side of women, how important matriarchs are to history.

“It’s really about female leadership.

“It is a different form of power – it is consensual leadership.

“It’s also very inclusive, very contemporary.

“She was absolutely fascinated by it. “

Meghan and Harry have now moved to Los Angeles, where, in late March, they began their post-royal life with their son Archie Harrison.

The Duke and Duchess are currently supporting their sponsorships and helping them through the COVID-19 crisis.

But they also started to get more involved in charities and associations linked to the Black Lives Matter movement.
