JORGE MASVIDAL seems ready to replace Gilbert Burns and to fight Kamaru Usman at UFC 251.

Brazilian Burns has tested positive for coronavirus in Las Vegas, where the UFC tests some of its stars before sending them to Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

Herbert Burns and Greg Jones, two 33-year-old welterweight cornermen, also tested positive, as Usman also stopped boarding his flight.

After receiving news of his exclusion from the event on Saturday, Burns shared a message with his Twitter followers.

He wrote: “Devastating news, I don’t feel good but I will win this battle! Stay safe there! Lots of love. ”

His manager Abraham Kawa then told Ariel Helwani of ESPN that his client was “absolutely ready” to fight.

Burns was surprisingly given a shot at champion Usman after the UFC failed to reconcile with Masvidal and English star Leon Edwards.

Gamebred has publicly criticized UFC president Dana White since he paid the fighters for revealing that they want him to take a part in fighting Usman in the Middle East.

However, he has now hinted that he was ready to enter the cage within a short time as he tweeted a photo describing the meaning of his nickname.

He said, “Gamebred is an animal that was bred to be game. ”

Former title contender Colby Covington has already offered to replace him by campaigning for a rematch against Usman.

Although the main event is now in chaos, UFC 251 has two more championship clashes.

Alexander Volkanovski’s rematch with former featherweight king Max Holloway should now top the list.

And Jose Aldo and Petr Yan will fight for the vacant bantamweight belt.
