Martin Lewis has announced that he is stepping down from Good Morning Britain after 17 years because he “couldn’t cope” with the busy schedule as he prepared to launch his new show.
Appearing on the ITV show today, the money expert, 48, revealed to hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins that he will not be returning for his weekly segment.
He went on to explain that he was struggling to keep up with the demands and grueling schedule of the show’s money-saving segment now that he was set to launch his new weekly live-action show in September.
At the end of today’s Tips for the Week, Martin said, “My time is running out, this is actually my last offers of the week. “Because of my new show that comes every week in September, I’m not going to do them anymore.

“I hope to continue to appear on Good Morning Britain, it’s been a wonderful 15 years on ITV during the day.
“I’m going to take a little break for the summer, so I just want to say thank you all for watching.
He continued, “I’ll see you in September, I’m not leaving properly, but that’s my main niche, every week, because I can’t do all of this at the same time. “

Martin then began to wonder how many years had passed since his debut, and added: “Ok now debate with myself if I started in 2003 or 2005. Anyway, it’s a long time.
And when one person suggested that Martin could still save the segments in advance, the expert replied: ‘It’s not the filming that’s the job, it’s the content. The five minutes on the screen take hours of background research. And I’m gonna do this for my evening show.
