Sancho has a preference to return to Manchester and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has ruled out a return to the Etihad stadium for the England international. Reports in Germany suggest the youngster is open to a move to Liverpool, but Jurgen Klopp has also kept the Merseyside club away from speculation.
The independent claim Sancho is now getting closer to a move to Old Trafford after United and Dortmund agreed on an upfront fee for the winger. It is believed that the German side will agree to an initial amount of £ 60million, but the deal is expected to hit the £ 100million mark.
In addition, the report says that discussions are still ongoing on how to structure the tranches. Dortmund are now pushing for the deal to be done as they have scheduled Sancho’s departure and want their squad to be finalized before resuming training on August 10.
Elsewhere United have been linked with a transfer from Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
Torres has been one of La Liga’s most impressive defenders this season and is on Manchester City’s summer roster, although an impending move for Nathan Ake could see them lower their interest.
Sports world claim the 23-year-old is a target for both United and Barcelona, but Villarreal is unwilling to budge on his € 65million valuation.
The report claims United are not put off by the award and will actively pursue his signing.
MEN Sport understand that defense is not a priority for United in the coming window as Solskjaer is happy with his options at the back.
