Man Utd star Harry Maguire ended his career after dirty nutmeg Stanislas for the Bournemouth opening game

And they thanked Stanislas – and Maguire.

The 27-year-old man from England was slow to get into position and was left for dead after an outrageous reflection from the Bournemouth winger.

After failing to get to the right place quickly enough, Maguire overworked and rushed.

This allowed Stanislas to pass the ball through his legs and crush it in the net at the post close to David De Gea.

And fans on Twitter were quick to pile up on Maguire – and De Gea – for the blunder.

One of them wrote: “Harry Maguire just finished his career with Junior Stanislas. “

Another tweeted, “Stanislas has just sent Harry Maguire back to Leicester. ”

A third even joked: “Roy Keane is preparing to go full Roy Keane on Maguire and De Gea. ”

One of them added: “Never compare Maguire with Virgil Van Dijk. Please. ”

The rapper AKA even rang, saying: “Maguire is subject to moments of absolute muppetry”.

Maguire has been criticized since the restart, having played a part in Steven Bergwijn’s goals against Tottenham and Todd Cantwell for Norwich even before the blunder on Saturday.

Bournemouth entered the game in 19th place – one point behind Watford after a streak of steamy results.

The Cherries players held a team meeting after their 4-1 humiliation against Newcastle, knowing that the work of boss Eddie Howe is at stake.

But despite his advance to Old Trafford, Bournemouth was not up to the hot attackers of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial all struck to put United firmly in control through the break.

Former United Academy star Joshua King removed one, but Greenwood added a second and Bruno Fernandes found the target as the hosts moved two points behind Chelsea in the fourth.

Solskjaer says Mason Greenwood is on track to beat his Man Utd scoring achievements and tells striker “Sky is the limit”
