Manchester United have reportedly recruited young Alvaro Fernandez Carreras of Real Madrid on a free transfer.

AS, via Sports Witnessreport that the 17-year-old “came to an agreement” with Uni and will sign a four-year agreement with Old Trafford.

The left-back, who was part of Real’s Youth Academy, saw his contract expire on June 30. He was unable to reach a new agreement with the Spanish club.

Madrid has made no effort to try to sign the youngster to a new and improved agreement. However, he chose to refuse this in favor of moving elsewhere.

The report adds that United then took its stride and ‘hurry’ for his signature, offering a long-term contract.

Carreras is excited about a potential new “adventure” and is confident that he can “convince” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he is ready to move on to the first team.

AS goes on to say that the defender has had the opportunity to train with the senior team if he has problems with the left back.

However, he will initially join the United youth team upon his possible arrival.
