Madeleine McCann suspects “could have snatched another child”, say the parents of a girl to whom he would have been exposed

This is the second time Brückner has been extradited for child sex crimes after fleeing to Portugal in 1996 following a conviction in Germany for assaulting a six-year-old girl when he was only 18 years old.But in 2007, when Madeleine disappeared, Portuguese police insisted that he did not know he was a convicted sex offender, only that he had stolen fuel from trucks parked in a nearby town.

The police even knocked on his door following Madeleine’s disappearance, but Brückner was not at home and they never called again.

Now, about 13 years later, German police have identified Brückner, now 43, as the main suspect in the McCann case and say they have evidence that the girl died and that the convicted pedophile “did the wrong thing.” ‘act’.

He has so far denied these allegations, but it is understood that he was not formally questioned in connection with the case.

Brückner is currently in drug jail and is appealing a rape conviction for an attack on a 72-year-old American tourist in Praia da Luz in 2005. His hearing is expected in the coming weeks.
