It was a strangely disjointed performance from Liverpool, especially in defense, although they had a few chances before City took control of the match.
Speaking on the Liverpool website, Reds captain Henderson said the whole team expected more from themselves, but it was important to treat the loss as a lesson.
“Lots of things, but to be honest, I thought we kept going,” said Henderson when asked what was wrong.
“You have to give City some credit, a fantastic side, and they’ve finished their chances.
“We are bitterly disappointed and after the match the guys are very disappointed with the result we should be.
“Another night I would like to think that we can finish our chances and that it would change the game, but unfortunately that would not be the case and you have to give City credit.
