On Canada Day, Trudeau says pandemic has shown “what it means to be Canadian”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wished Canadians a happy Canada Day on his Twitter account Wednesday morning, saying that the coronavirus pandemic has shown “what it means to be Canadian”.

“The past few months have been difficult, no doubt. But throughout this pandemic, we have been there for each other, ”said Trudeau.

“We are neighbors helping neighbors, small businesses being there for their communities and their staff. The military responded to the call to help protect our most vulnerable and the doctors and nurses to keep our families healthy, “he said. “Because that’s what it means to be Canadian. ”

Canada had more than 104,000 confirmed cases and 8,591 deaths on Tuesday.
