Kelly Preston, actress and wife of John Travolta, dies at 57


LOS ANGELES – Actress Kelly Preston, whose credits included the films “Twins” and “Jerry Maguire”, died on Sunday, said husband John Travolta. She was 57 years old. Travolta confirmed the death of his wife in an Instagram post on Sunday evening. He said she died after a two-year battle with breast cancer.

“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” said Travolta of his 28-year-old wife. “She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many people. ”

Preston has had a long career in film and television and sometimes appearing in movies with her husband. They had three children together.

Preston and Travolta were married in a midnight ceremony in Paris in 1991 while the couple were expecting their first son, Jett.

In January 2009, 16-year-old Jett Travolta died after being seized from the family vacation home in the Bahamas. The death sparked legal action after an ambulance driver and his lawyer were accused of trying to extort $ 25 million from the actors, or they would disclose sensitive information about the death of their son.
