Keith Lee shocked the wrestling world on Wednesday, eliminating Adam Cole on the second night of NXT’s Great American Bash to become the new NXT champion.
Lee thought he had finished things off with a massive clothesline after the two round trips, and even after surviving a brutal top rope suplex, he still didn’t want to give up. Things ended for Cole when Lee succeeded in hitting Cole with a spiritual bomb, before recapturing Cole and hitting a Big Bang disaster on him for victory. While Lee was celebrating his championship in a rain of confetti, Karrion Kross and Scarlett could be seen at the top, staring at Lee, with Kross no doubt plotting how he might one day rule NXT.
