Kate returned to Good Morning Britain as a host on Monday for the first time since resigning from Derek’s hospital dashboard.
She and their children Darcey, 14, and Billy, 11, continue to hope that their father will return home and recover as he continues his fight.
The family has been overwhelmed by the support of friends, family, fans and even celebrities since the start of their ordeal.
Kate revealed that David Beckham hadn’t even reached out to him with a few sweet words.
He offered his support and all he could do to help her, but it was what he did next for Kate’s children that thanked her for hearing from him.
She explained to co-host Ben Shephard: “He kindly contacted me on Instagram in a private message saying,” Can I do something to help? ”
“I was tempted to say,” what about your missus wardrobe, that would be helpful “in terms of the joke.
“I thought it was very, very nice of him, and I was like to be honest, telling Darcey and Billy that you had contacted me … they were just like” no way! “. says enough is enough, thanks. ”
David also sent Kate and the children a supporting video message.
But Kate didn’t quite understand the technology and opened the video without realizing that you could only view it once on Instagram.
She said, “He sent a little video message, although he sent it on something smart that I couldn’t work on, where you read the video message once and then you lose it.
“Fortunately, he sent two ‘because Darcey didn’t have his’, because I went, ‘Oh my God, he sent a message’ and I played it and then it disappeared. ”
Addressing his return, Kate wanted to “have fun” by replacing Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.
She explained: “We are going to have fun this morning, we have a lot of emotion but we will have fun too. ”
When her co-stars welcomed her back, she warned them to be “rude” with her rather than nice, because she would become emotional with him.
They all took a moment to praise his return, with fans tweeting to do the same.
Good Morning Britain is aired weekdays at 6 a.m. on ITV.
